PN1 Artisan

The profession demonstration is based on the Vocational qualification in arts and design. The Vocational qualification in arts and design includes 11 competence areas: precious metals, watchmaking and micromechanics, crafts instruction, blacksmithing, joinery, restoration, Sami crafts, interior decoration, making musical instrument, making products and upholstery.

The qualification title is artesaani (artisan), kelloseppä (watchmaker) or mikromekaanikko (micromechanic) depending on the competence area.

Holders of the Vocational qualification in arts and design may work as entrepreneurs or perform work tasks indicated their sector in the planning and manufacture of products, design, and construction of spaces, planning, and implementation of services, guidance activities, industrial production, customer service, and saleswork and in repair, construction, and maintenance work.
