FAQ Cancellation of the Taitaja2020 Jyväskylä Event
Taitaja2020 Jyväskylä event scheduled for May was cancelled because of the Coronavirus situation and the decisions made by the Finnish Government. This is very unfortunate especially for the competitors, and we regret it. Skills Finland and Jyväskylä Educational Consortium Gradia are investigating the consequences of the cancellation of the event. When making decisions, the safety and health of the students, the public and our partners is our priority.
Below you can find answers to some frequently asked questions. Unfortunately, we can’t answer all the questions yet, since there are lots of things to clear up when it comes to cancelling a huge event like this. We update this list as soon as we get more information and we contact the party in question directly.
QUESTION: Has the event been totally cancelled or will it be postponed? Or is it possible to organize it separately in different schools?
ANSWER: Taitaja2020 Jyväskylä event will be totally cancelled. The next Taitaja event will be organized in Oulu in May 2021. It is not possible to postpone the event until the autumn because of the timetable. Arrangements for Taitaja2021 Oulu event are already well under way. For security reasons and the decisions made by the Finnish Government, it is not possible to arrange the Jyväskylä event at all.
QUESTION: What should be done with the hotel bookings?
ANSWER: Jkl Booking has already cancelled the reservations made for Taitaja2020 Jyväskylä event. Regarding the possible cancellation fees, Jkl Booking will also contact the persons who have made reservations.
